How to apply for your visa
To study at Cardiff University International Study Centre you will need a Student visa (formerly known as a Tier 4 visa). Applying for your visa can be done easily online through the UKVI Government visa portal. You will usually get a decision within 3 weeks, and they will tell you all the documents you need and whether you will be asked to attend a visa interview.
Before you apply for your Student visa, you will need to meet the following eligibility criteria:
- You have been offered a place on a course
- You must have received a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies) from our Admissions team
- You can speak, read, write and understand English
- You have enough money to support yourself and pay for your course
Application process
- Receive an offer: Apply for a programme and receive an offer.
- Submit documents: Provide required documents for verification.
- Pay fees: Pay your deposit and CAS fee.
- Receive CAS: Your CAS will be issued, allowing you to apply for your visa.
- Apply for visa: Submit your visa application online.
- Attend credibility interview: If required, participate in a visa interview to verify your intentions.

The advice I would give international students coming to the UK is be open. Put yourself out there. Don't be afraid. Don't be thinking about ‘what if’s, because life is very short and you've got to take every day by day.
